ICHIKO TARO is dedicating two theses; the former is the pre-disaster planning for post-disaster recovery in Tokyo, the latter is a long-term recovery study from the Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake (2011). Though, both theses shared a common sense to take community-based approach for resilience society and be based on the planning theory for the community development.
His thesis was awarded the encouragement prize from the City Planning Institute of Japan (2010) and Institute of Social Safety Science (2005)
